As most of you know there was a tornado that hit our town on May 13th. I was out of town at my parent's house and it was quite nerve wracking for me to have Jason and all of my friends here and not knowing what was going on.
A lot of our friend's homes were affected. A lot of people lost significant belongings and such. Almost everyone whose home was affected had to move out. The student's and their spouses and the community really pulled together to help out. Jason spent a lot of time helping people salvage belongings before they got ruined by rain. I felt awful when I got back that I hadn't been able to help. I was lucky enough to be able to go and be of some help to a friend who had to get all of their belongings packed and moved in just a few short days. Here are a bunch of us in the midst of packing. We had to wear masks because although the roof was still sitting on the house, it had been lifted and there was insulation all though the air in the house. And here are a few other pictures of the houses. I should have walked out in the street and turned so that you could see some of the worst houses, but I was feeling lazy.

again, so heartbreaking. (especially your use of the possessive apostrophe on friends.)
