Cirque Amongus

I recently took the boys to Cirque Amongus at our local library. There were two people, a 14 year old boy and another guy who put on the show. They rode unicycles and juggled and various other little acts.Man could that kid juggle. I think at one point he had 7 balls going at once all the while throwing them behind his back and under his leg, etc. The boys were very impressed. At the end of the show, they brought out this "tight rope" and let all of the kids walk across it. Tab thought that it was awesome. Benton really wanted to do it, but as he had recently hurt his foot, he took about two steps and then wanted to be held.

Festival in St. Joseph

We recently spent a day with some of our good friends/family in St. Joseph. There was a festival going on and we went to enjoy the day. They have these animal statutes and boats all along the downtown area. There was a kid's area with little carnival games. They had a bunch of animals that they got out and showed for the kids. Tab and Benton both enjoyed petting the alligator.
Tab and Benton both thought that this cannon was pretty cool. Tab thought is had to be for pirates. There was a set of train tracks and Tab couldn't wait until we got down to them. He was so excited about being able to go see the crossing gate.Paisley just wanted you to know that she was there too.
And as the festival was right next to the beach, the boys just had to play in the sand.We let Tab pick one ride. He picked the Farris Wheel.Daddy and Benny on the Farris Wheel.Mommy and Tab$12 well spent.

Have I ever mentioned...

That I just happen to have the most beautiful daughter in the whole wide world? I just thought that you might like evidence. And I just love this little outfit. I have been waiting for 7 long weeks for her to fit into this outfit. She is still as skinny as ever, but is getting longer and thus outgrowing all of her newborn clothes. And a closeup just for good measure.Look, I mean, she's even adorable when she's all bundled up and half asleep. If I didn't value my hands free time a little bit too much, it would be too hard to resist picking her up and snuggling her at all times.

Arts at the Library

Our local library has a great summer program full of story times and activities. Last week we attended a "Craft and Create" activity. They gave the kids each a little plastic apron and then we went around from table to table doing various craft activities. At the first table the boys strung these bead necklaces. Then they painted some super cute pictures. They also had clay and a hodgepodge of various papers and odds and ends that they made collages out of. It was great activity to get us out of the house.

Sigh...

Benton has surely hit the terrible 2's. He is into everything and is all around making me crazy lately. The other day Tab came running upstairs to tell on Benton. I only half listened to him, but came down stairs to see what he was carrying on about. I got to the bottom of the stairs and smelled it... burning plastic. I ran over to where Benton was throwing toys inside a lamp that we have.He also put the green and red rings in. The blue one just happened to land perfectly on the lightbulb and then he turned it on. The lightbulb melted the ring and I had to remove the lightbulb with the ring attached.

Daddy's girl

Poor Jason. Paisley already has him wrapped around her little finger. But when you are this cute it would be hard not to be wrapped around her little finger.

Our Last Week in Kirksville

I swear I'm almost done catching up. Our last week or so in Kirksville was a hodgepodge of activities and packing and such. The library kick started there summer program by having a storyteller come to the amphitheater and perform. He was fantastic. Had it not been so blazing hot the boys would have probably lasted longer. Tab found my lifting gloves and decided they made him a transformer. Right on, whatever kept him occupied as all of his toys were packed was fine by me.Benton was trying to find creative ways to play too.Who doesn't love to see some cute bums? Tab bought these bathtub toys for Benton after causing the whole cut on his face issue.Good letters Tab.The boys attended a birthday party for a little boy just a few months older than Benton. They had a blast. It was sure nice to get out of the house.Benton loved his cupcake. I just think I must have forgotten to tell him that he was supposed to eat it and not just smash it into his face. One day when Jason got home from studying for boards. The boys were beside themselves being trapped inside with me and the baby as I packed all day. All they wanted was their daddy to come home and rescue them.Tab finished up his swim lessons.Last time at the aquatic center.
Last scooter ride. I thing Jason was just as sad about this as the boys were. He misses he scooter. And finally, goofy Tab. We received some free pullups samples which is nice since Tab uses them at bedtime. (I think we are two weeks accident free at night by the way). Well the sample included one for boys and one for girls. I was planning of giving the girl one to a friend, but Tab found it and was SOOO excited about wearing his "pretty princess" night time skinnies. We couldn't not let him wear them. He paraded around the house with them and was beyond ecstatic.
