Extended 4th of July celebrations!
So, the little town we live in didn't do it's 4th of July Celebrations until the 16th of July. I'm not really sure why but it was nice to have some activities later in the month. The Fire Department which is a few blocks from our home holds a little carnival at the park down the street from us. Luckily Jason had one evening off so we took the kids down.
They rode a few rides.

We walked around a bit but since we are cheap, they didn't really get to play a lot of games and such so we headed home. We lit up the fire pit for some s'mores.
And the kids wrestled. Really is it playing outside without slamming your brother to the ground? Paisley has learned to participate as well. Though she typically tries to be in a position where she can quickly escape.
And would it really be playing outside with boys if they didn't feel the need to relieve themselves? Apparently going inside to the bathroom was too far.

4th of July
So, I finally downloaded our pictures from the 4th.
We started our weekend at the Beach. The kids had a blast running around and playing in the sand. Alex was yelling into a hole they dug into the sand.
Keturah took a while to warm up to the sand but then she was in heaven.
The boys spent some time trying to figure out how to use the skim board. Matt didn't do too bad.
Jason did alright as well, but I just happened to catch a picture of him biffing it.
It was so nice to just hang out. It was almost like old times.
Tab and Alex enjoyed the bath crayons.
Tab drew a picture of Paisley. I love the pig tails and dress.
We did a bunch of hanging out and playing. Of course there was a ton of playing with transformers.
Saturday morning we went to the parade.
Isn't she just gorgeous?
We had a lot of fun watching.
Keeping the babe's happy.
Later in the afternoon we went to a little carnival. The kids displaying their tickets.
Redeeming the tickets.

They loved the little train.
I think that they spent 15 minutes at least in the bounce house.

Sarah and I enjoyed hanging too.
Love this little guy. He is so handsome.
Monday I took the kids to another little 4th of July event. They loved getting their faces painted.
Paisley didn't really love getting hers done, so her butterfly is incomplete. Alas.

A late Happy 4th!
For the 4th we had some of our best friends from Kirksville over. They moved about two hours away to another city in Michigan. First we hit up a parade which I forgot to bring my camera to. The kids all rode in our van (more on that later). It was fun to listen to them chatter back and forth non-stop. I guess you have a lot to talk about after a few weeks apart. They had to catch up on well, you know the typical stuff...poo and "firing" each other in half.
We hung out and ate and then went to some more festivities. They had a funny kiddy carnival type of thing and we let the boys play a few games.
We watched some skydivers.
Benny thought that they were awesome.
They also had some bouncy things.
I swear we got a pictue of Paisley and Keturah together, perhaps that was on Sarah's camera. hmm..
The most fun was probably watching the kids wrestle while we waited for the fireworks to start. It was absolutely hilarious.

Here they are all attacking Sarah.
Here is a video of them wrestling. I'm sorry for the gay laugh. I never realized how gomer my laugh sounded until now, so I apologize for all of those who have had to hear me laugh.
The men hanging out with the babes. Nice face Matt.

They stayed for church and most of Sunday. Here the kids are all together right before they left. We were telling them to smile for the picture but they didn't think there was much to be smiling about, especially Tab. He had had his hands over his face because he was whining about not wanting them to leave.
And Tab after they left. I was holding him and he cried as they pulled out of our driveway.
