Thanksgiving
Hey look at that we have now progressed to only being ridiculously far behind in blogging. Thanksgiving was fun. Jason worked...boo! But my parents came up and brought with them my brother, Matthew and his wife, Erikka and their daughter Arya. Paisley made fast friends with Arya. They played and played and played.
And snuggled...
Tab was also a big fan.
It probably had to do with the fact that she let him do whatever she wanted, unlike his little sister.
Benton got in on the action too.
A lot of the holiday was spent like this.
And this... (So crazy to see my brother as a dad. He is awesome at it!)
And a fair amount of shenanigans such as this.
I think the kids favorite part was this. Though it may look like they were wrestling, they were in fact holding on for dear life as Matt would muster all of the strength he had a would jump with all four kids attached to his legs. It was quite amusing and I dare say tiring, for Matt that is. As a matter of fact I think he went a took a nap after this was over.
Don't worry, they came back for more. This time in the form of acrobatics of sorts, you know the kind where he throws them and swings them around like a crazy person.
Mom helped to calm things down a bit by working on TP's with the kids.
Matt joined in helping but I think that is just because he wanted to eat some of the yummy maple frosting and candy.
Grandma and Grandpa took all of the kids to the park to get out of the crowded house for a bit.
Poor grandpa got stuck in the trap that is pushing Paisley on the swing for pretty much the entire time they were there. Somehow, I don't think he minded.
You see he and Paisley are good friends. She loves to snuggle grandpa. And play with his beard.
I dare say grandpa has an affinity for little granddaughters in general.
And now to it. The turkey!
And the feast, minus the pies.

Thanksgiving Turkey
Tab's teacher sent home a poster board with a turkey traced on it with instructions to as a family project cut it out and decorate it however we wanted. So of course I suggested fabric. Tab didn't really care as long as it had a lot of colors and glitter. He helped a lot with the gluing. He loved getting to use the spray adhesive.
He also helped to string the beads onto the wire and did all of the glitter. It is hard to see but the wattle is covered in glitter and the edges of the beak and the feet are covered in glitter.
He was very proud to bring his turkey to school.

Thanksgiving
We were so lucky to have some of our best friends come visit us for Thanksgiving. We enjoyed Thanksgiving with them last year as well. Sarah and I really enjoy cooking together. The men, well... there was a bit of complaining about how little time we spent hanging out with them. Sigh... the sacrifices they made...
The kid's table.
The adults. Our friends, the Fullmer's came for dinner too.
Friday afternoon we all went to pick out our Christmas trees. We looked up some U-Cut Christmas Tree farms and picked one to go get our trees. When we pulled up it was an old house with a sign on the door that said, "Go cut tree", and then regarding payment it said, "if no answer (meaning at the door), use coffee can". We got a kick out of this. So we picked up the saws off of the doorstep and drove down the road that led behind the house. And we saw this. Essentially a forest with a road through it.
After looking around and deciding that we didn't drive all the way out there for nothing, Jason picked a tree and lopped the top off.
We were kind of annoyed at the lack of "christmas tree farm-ness" of the place but were determined to come out with a tree. Matt paced around and finally went for it.
After a lot of trimming, we brought the tree in the house.
Tab was pooped from a long day of fun.
When we were cleaning up, Tab insisted on vacuuming. He actually did a really good job. I think I can feel a new chore coming on.
We didn't get around to trimming the tree until Saturday morning. Tab insisted on wearing gloves to protect his hands.
Benny loved helping too.
Pais was there.

Thanksgiving
I know this is late, but I've been kind of crazy busy as of late.
We shared our Thanksgiving with our good friends, the Guymon's, who also stayed in town. Sarah and I made dinner together. It was a ton of fun. It was nice that the lived one street over and that we could use both of our ovens!
Here we are with our Yummy Turkey!
And of course a quick picture of the spread. (I'll be posting some of the recipes on Recipe for Disaster shortly.
The kids enjoying their food!
Jason was feeling like his "usual" self. It originally said, "Give Thanks".
Just us.
And of course the pies: Lemon Meringue, Apple, Blueberry, Chocolate Mousse and Pumpkin. (We didn't make the apple, pumpkin or blueberry...another friend brought those).
And a picture of the yummy Caramel Pumpkin Cheesecake that we made but forgot to take out right at first.

Thanksgiving in PA
We spent Thanksgiving at parents house in Pennsylvania. We visited all of the places I love and enjoyed a lot of rain (that is the nice was of me saying dude it rained a freaking ton). Tab as well as my sister's kids thoroughly enjoyed my mom's chickens, as can be witnessed below.

Here is Tab encountering his first chicken, courtesy of my little brother. Can anyone guess what habit is being displayed in this picture that makes me want to scream?
And here is Tab taking his turn gathering "grama chicken eggs"

Grandma showed them all the different parts of the chicken.

Don't worry, he ain't scared. He loved holding the chickens. Weirdo.

Hmm... maybe he saw grandma doing it a few times. Mom, it still makes me laugh to think of you snuggling your chickens.
The kids also had a blast playing in the soggy wet leaves.

Miles and Tab were the best of friends and the worst of enemies.
Exhibit A: Play Also known as chasing eachother in circles, which was very cute I might add.

Exhibit B: Hitting

Exhibit C: Now that we're friends again, let's play.

Again the boys playing. There was a LOT of this going on. And I just have to give Tab props for winning with a score of 153. lol

And just for fun, what happens when Tab has someone to play with 24 hours a day.
