This weekend there were so many events in the community that it was so hard to choose what to do.
The boys and I headed to the town square this morning for the Red Barn Arts and Crafts Festival. It was a blast. I was kicking myself for having forgot the camera. But you'll just have to picture it. They close off the roads on the town square and vendors come and set up booths and sell their wares. All of this is on top of the usual farmer's market that is on the square every Saturday. We walked around and picked up a few things. I just love handmade and rustic looking Christmas ornaments so I picked up a cute star painted with a Santa and let Tab pick one out for himself. He of course picked a tractor. I also got Jason a sign for his office door that states, "All stressed out, with no one to choke". I thought it was corny but fitting.
Later in the day we headed over to the dorms where they had some of those huge blow up play sets with the slides and all. Unfortunately, they were just taking those down when we got there. Tab was still able to enjoy a free snow cone and cotton candy. Oddly enough, Benton did NOT like the cotton candy. I'm starting to worry that he is not my child, for no child of mine could ever pass up cotton candy.
Immediately after the snow cones we went to The Norman Magic Experience. Another fabulous thing about Truman University, where this was held, is that tickets cost Jason and I $3 a piece and the kids were free and students got in free also. If we had been at BYU, students would have been paying $7, we would have been paying $10-12 and Tab never would have been free.
Norman NG (pronounced "ing") was amazing. He was such a great entertainer. Tab was enthralled with it all. I don't think that he fully grasped all of the things that he was doing, but like I said he was a great showman, so he was entertained nonetheless. He clapped a lot. (After the show he told me that he doesn't like clapping anymore.) He particularly liked when he opened a book and dropped a bowling ball out of it. He also really liked when he was hitting playing cards with a hockey stick. Benton enjoyed climbing on the seats and being able to sit on daddy's lap for a very short amount of time. Jason was a sport and took Benton out and put him to sleep and came back to finish the show with us.
Tab was so excited to go up and meet the magician after the show.
It was a really great night. I'm so glad that we live in such a great little town that has so many fun events for us to be able to take advantage of.

looks like a blast. as an aside... Matt's last name should actually be Ng. It was changed from Ng to Eng when his grandfather came to the US.
I was intrigued by it when he said his last name was pronounced ing but spelled Ng. I of course instantly thought of you guys and wondered.
of course... the real magic happened later that evening...
Hey Jason, let's keep it G-rated ok...Geez. And for the record, he's totally dreaming.
or the next day... 9 PM?
That would be magic, now wouldn't it.
BRICK WALL... ouch...
Hey, that's how I roll. Someone's gotta wear the pants.
the pain... it is... too much... to bear...
pass the ice...
Thank you...
Next recipe on "recipe for disaster"... serving up some rejection with a little side of kick in the pants...
Nice, guys...maybe you shouldn't be having your conversations posted on the internet for all.
I saw the bounce houses at Truman, but didn't know that we could go too, dang it. The magic shows sounds awesome, too. We missed out on the cheapness of that also.
We are such losers.
