Hey Spaz!
We were at McDonald's for dinner one night. (You know, one of those nights were I just couldn't take it any more.) Tab figured out that his mouth is really "stetchy", his words, not mine. I thought that you might enjoy.

Take a Deep Breathe...this is but for a short moment
Right? Someone please tell me I'm right because I'm about to lose my top. I can't barely stand my boys right now, or for the past month that is. They are the worst behaved children I've ever seen. The don't obey, they don't do anything I think but scream and yell and throw fits and get send to their room or the corner or, or, or... I'm about at the end of end of my rope, I kid you not. I know, I know, you don't believe me, I usually just post the lovely fun stuff. But I just wanted to keep it real.
These are pictures of what is REAL and very REGULAR around our house. I just happened to have my camera right on the counter next to me and taking a picture was the only thing that kept me from crying. And just imagine Tab 2 minutes later doing the same thing. Here he is pulling on my pocket trying to get me to do something or give him something or just make me crazy, who knows. No wonder I can't get a thing done all day. I promise I will only say this once, I WANT TO GO HOME. And by home, I mean Kirksville... it has really become what I think of when I think home. Thank you for your patience, now back to your regularly scheduled "happy" blogging.

A little Pais Update
First of all, her oldest brother is completely and totally wrapped around her little finger. Apparently he was still tired after waking up one morning, so he laid down next to her for some snuggles and fell asleep. Paisley's first in the tub bath. We procrastinated this because her belly button took FOREVER to heal and because I hate bathing little babies. Let's just say I've never owned a good baby bathtub that was worth owning. And she is screaming bloody murder because mean daddy is following mom's instructions to scrub at the cradle cap that is so hideous. And finally, Paisley's new favorite past time. She is quite good and batting at the toys and will do it for a good 20 minutes at a time.

You Don't say...
Someone in my house is obsessed with pirates. I don't think that I need to name names. I believe we have already had several posts about this matter. And as you may know, I have been doing quite a bit of crocheting lately. While I was crocheting the baby legs, Tab has been begging me to crochet him a sword. I tried telling him that he would be sad with a crocheted sword as it would be pretty pathetic and flimsy. So I decided to try my hand at crocheting him a pirate. I scoured the web for a free pattern but could only find one on Etsy. I decided that I couldn't afford the cheap pattern because I could totally figure it out myself. So I gathered the yarn that my mom gave me when I was visiting in May and set to it. I absolutely refuse to link you to the inspiration as mine looks nothing like it and is completely horrible by comparison.
Now, here he is. Tab has named him Captain Slobs, which is what he calls himself.
A little closer up. (I should have used a single crochet as my base stitch, alas)I love how the eye patch lifts up.
Mostly, I am just really proud of it, egg shaped head and all, because of this.I couldn't get him to hold still for a picture because he was swinging it around and hugging it. He has been carrying it everywhere with him since I gave it to him this afternoon. We were walking to the park and he slung him over his back and wrapped the guy's arms around his neck as he was walking. I wish that I would have had my camera with me.

Our Tribute to Michael Jackson
So we have been fully unpacked for quite some time now. However there are a few random items that need to be put away but I'm just to lazy to do. For example, there has been a single black glove sitting on the floor of the playroom for weeks now. Tab recently discovered it and has been wearing it around non-stop. We figure it must be his tribute to Michael Jackson.Just for reference.

Art Night
Jason got home at a reasonable time one night, so we decided to take the boys to an art night at the library. They really seemed to have fun. I think Tab had the most fun with the collage.Benny liked drawing with Daddy. Tab liked trying to stick HIS picture in front of the camera while I was trying to take a picture of Benton.
So of course, I had to take a picture of his drawing.

Library Fun
Every time we go to the library, Tab begs me to let him play on the kid computers. Last week, I finally gave in. Then Benton decided he wanted a turn too. I think he really just wanted to put on the awesome headphones. Though he did enjoy having the Cat in the Hat book read to him.He was clearly quite engrossed. He couldn't tear his gaze away even for a quick picture. He gave me that I'll turn my face, but don't ask me to actually look at you.

Picnic Caddy
Once again we took the boys to make the Home Depot monthly project. We just love our "Home Depot Days". This month was supposed to be a different project but for some reason they got the wrong project sent to them, so we did last month's project which is just as well since we missed last month.Tab is getting pretty darn good with a hammer. He takes after his Grandpa Solter.
Benny...well....we try to avoid letting him hold the hammer by himself. He is still a bull in a china shop.

Happy Birthday Benton!
Benny Boogs turned 2 today! We didn't do all that much differently today but I tried to make the day a little special for you by letting you have some soda and letting you have milk every single time you asked for it. For dinner we ate some home made Mac and Cheese, Benny's favorite. And then of course was the cake. Benton is our "late bloomer". He is just really starting to talk. For the longest time, he only used vowel sounds as "words". Because of this Jason started saying to him, "Today's Sesame Street has been brought to you by the letter..." and Benton would emphatically say, "O". Thus the cake..Here is a video we took, just because he is so cute.
It was killer to get him to look up from the cake for a picture.
He actually blew on the candles but couldn't blow hard enough to blow them out.Horking down the goods. I have to tell you what that boy surely was hyped up on sugar tonight.Present time. Mom and Dad were boring and got him the last collection of Shel Silverstein poetry, "Falling Up". The boys love reading those poems. The other two are nearly falling apart from being read and handled so much.Jason thought that Benton had a striking resemblence to the character in the book. Here he is opening his gift from Jason's parents. You can almost here the excitement coming from his mouth in this picture.
And if you can't hear it coming from his mouth in the last picture than you can surely see it in his eyes in this one.He was so excited to play with it that he couldn't be bothered to finish opening it first. But don't worry, that is what big brother is here for.Benton was very excited about the airplane. We live very close to the airport here and so we see and hear airplanes all of the time. Every time Benton sees one he makes an airplane noise and waves his arm around as if he has a toy airplane in he hand that he is flying. Gotta love that silly kid.

Baby Legs
With my sewing machine out of commission, I have been really into crocheting lately. I decided that I wanted to crochet a pair of baby legs for Paisley. I think that they turned out pretty cute. While I was at it, I made a few pairs for my sisters in law, one who had a baby the day before Paisley was born and one that is due very soon.

Don't Think I'll Ever Get Sick of Seeing This
Jason fell asleep snuggling Paisley after getting out of the shower one afternoon. Have I ever mentioned that the Newborn stage is one of Jason's favorites? I'm sure you could tell.
I think he thinks that he has to try to take it all in now before she becomes a sassy little girl or worse, a teenager.

Magic Show
Again, I can't stress enough how very much we love our local library system. Tab asks about going to the library nearly every day. I guess it isn't enough that we are usually at the library about 2 days a week. Last week they had a Magic Show one evening. So Jason huffed it home from the hospital on his bike so that we could make it over in time. The boys just loved it. Tab knelt at the foot of the stage for nearly the entire show. Pais and I enjoyed it too. (Just ignore the fact that I look hammered at all times.)
After the show, the Magician brought his bunny down for all of the kids to pet.The boys with the magician.

Benny... Always Good For a Laugh
Every now and again Benton throws a big stink about taking his Nap. Unfortunately for him, I can be more stubborn than he is. These pictures have been randomly taken over the past two months of Benton crashing during said nap enforcement.Benton is a goof and is always good for a few laughs. He has an obsession with shoes. He loves all of his shoes and loves wearing everyone else's too. He has figured out that Tab's are off limits unless he wants to suffer at his brother's wrath. He is particularly fond of my high heels and his dad's flip flops and sneakers. This is the "you wouldn't steal your own shoes off of the feet of a cute little boy like me, would you?" look. And of course one of the main things occurring in our house lately has been nursing Paisley. I swear that is all I ever do anymore...sigh. Alas, Benton has caught on. As I was nursing Paisley, he insisted that his baby wanted "miw"...aka milk. So I told him to go feed the baby, thinking he would grab the toy bottle that he usually uses to feed the baby. Nope, he knew the real way to get that baby some milk. I should have taken more pictures as he walked around for the next hour or so with the entire baby shoved up under his shirt.
